I've had my hair short for a few years now and using the right product can really do wonders. My usual hair role model is Halle Berry since her pixie is always perfect. When I am lazy, I gel it and go, but a great product I've discovered is Paul Mitchell Spray Wax. It's easier to apply than traditional wax, less messy and heavy and rinses out easier. It can probably work nicely for girls with longer styles with lots of layers for a tousled beachy look also.
