My Casual Uniform

Yay for petite ankle length jeans! These are Bitten
(Sarah Jessica Parker's former line for Steve and Barry's)

I loved that line. I was so sad when all the Steve and Barry stores closed. That meant no more SJP Bitten line! Luckily I still have a few pieces like these jeans and that cropped black jacket I play out (refer to Fabsugar look on lower right...that's my Bitten jacket!)  Why she hasn't come up with another clothing line yet is beyond me! She's so stylish, anything she puts her name on is a sure winner.

Anyway, this is a look I reach for when I want to be comfy and stay chic. It's a foolproof way to look polished and is appropriate for many casual events. It's basically my casual "uniform". A blazer, print top, straight leg, ankle length jeans and ballet flats. It's easy and makes you look put together any time!

Blazer: Forever 21
Silk top: Forever 21
Jeans: SJP for Bitten
Flats: Aerosoles

Today's Trend: Hat as Art

This is way off the usual budget fashions shown here, but please tell me you saw the last episode of Project Runway!  How amazing were those Philip Treacy hats? If you missed it, you gotta see it, it was so crazy (in a fabulous way). Especially since I love hats! Here's SJP wearing a Philip Treacy design at the Sex in The City movie premiere. Would you ever wear an avant garde hat like this? I would, if only to the supermarket.

Here are more of Treacy's masterpieces...

I added some more affordable options below that are also super unique.

Celeb Inspired: Sarah Jessica Parker's Tile Necklace

It's hard not to overlook the amazing necklace Sarah Jessica Parker wears with her white Halston dress in Sex and the City 2. I often feature jewelry here because it is such big a part of the total look! In her case it was a HUGE part of the look since the necklace is valued at 2 million dollars. Yowsers. I can't afford that.
The exact name of the necklace is the Solange Azagury-Partridge Random Necklace. It even sounds expensive.  Though not an exact match, check out the Zad Collarbone necklace below. The best part is that it's only 29 dollars.
