It's Like a Heatwave
Wow. I am not sure where all this heat came from, but I'll take it after a winter full of blizzards. That's the other shirt I bought at Charlotte Russe (in addition to the leopard). The asymmetrical sleeves caught my eye.
I paired it with the shorts I featured in the Cavalleri post. I am staying in tonight and having a movie night. I am watching Clueless for the first time since I have never seen it before (can you believe that?) Especially since it is supposed to be fashion related!

Charlotte Russe Etc Haul
A sudden heat wave is a great excuse to go to the mall. For the air conditioning of course. :)
First, I bought this leopard shirt at Charlotte Russe. Only $6.99.
I also bought a funky, asymmetrical black shirt for $9.99 that I will feature in my next outfit post!

Then I bought these fun little gloves at Claire's.
This necklace is from Payless.
I am a little late on the Carrie Bradshaw horseshoe necklace trend, but I still like it!

Church Outfit and Quick Testimony
My sister invited me to her church today and this is what I wore. I chose purple and when I got there all of the church members were wearing purple in honor of Friends Day! Wow, coincidence! It was cool because I fit right in.

Also, I was debating on whether to discuss this, but since women's health has always been something I feel strongly about, I felt it was important. Recently, I mentioned I wasn't feeling well and it was so nice to receive well wishes (thanks Kandie:). Without going into a lot of detail, I will say this was an issue related to women's health and thank God, it wasn't serious after all.
This experience has taught me the following:
Trust your instincts. You know your body more than anyone, so you know when something is wrong.
Complain. I am not a complainer by nature. I am a pro at suffering silently, but that really helps no one.
Think the best, not the worst. During troubles, our mind leads us to dark places. Don't let it.
Lean on family. They're always there for you.
Trust your faith. This is specific to each person, but for me, God is always there for me.
Continue living! This is important. In the midst of my scare, I continued to do outfit posts and was chosen as a Fabsugar Look of the Week. I continued to sing, laugh, and watch Everybody Loves Raymond.
Remember what matters. God, Health, Family, Friends, Chocolate cake...oops.True though.
Celebrate your strength...always. If there is anything on Earth stronger than the strength of a woman I don't know what it is.
I hope this entry lifted your spirits and reminded you of the amazing woman that you are.
And I hope it wasn't too long! Now, we commence fashion.

Cream of the Cropped
Another day, another thrifted jacket. This one is a cropped Ann Taylor tweed jacket. I must have been a British English professor in a former life, I love tweed so much. I kept it from looking too stodgy by choosing a modern shape and mixing it with other separates! I'm laughing in that last pic because I just realized that's a long scarf, but it's ruffled and I love it after tying it properly.
