Another Royal Couple

With all this royal wedding fever and my own anniversary coming up in May, I wanted to show you my wedding photo! Here we are. We're not really royal, but I'm gonna say close enough. Everyone should feel like royalty on their wedding day!

Kate Middleton's wedding dress was so beautiful. It actually reminded me of my own dress. I knew it would be slightly like the style of mine with long lace sleeves. That was such an amazing day filled with family, friends, good food and of course lots of dancing.

Royal Wedding Hats

Philip Treacy blue skull slice hat in felt with flower and feather
$1,478

Would it be nutty for me to say I was a little more excited about all of the hats at the Royal Wedding than Kate Middleton's actual dress? The guests did not disappoint with their hats either. Many were the elaborate works of art by Philip Treacy. I once blogged about my love for his designs here in my Hat as Art post. I am crossing my fingers that he will design a line for Target as hat goddess Eugenia Kim did last spring.

Some Scarf Love

I love scarves, no secret there. A fellow blogger recommended this lovely scarf from Windsor.
It was sold out for a long time and I back ordered it. It was supposed to come mid-May, but it came yesterday!

I checked the Windsor site and it's sold out again! So I found a similar look from NY & Co...

Jennifer Aniston's Wedges

I would love to to be as chic as Jennifer Aniston. Who wouldn't? That woman can wear neutrals like nobody's business. I fell for these Stuart Weitzman Alex wedges she wore last summer...

Gorgeous, I know, but for over 300 dollars, they're a wee bit out of my budget. So I found these Franco Sarto shoes for $40 at TJMaxx instead and I think they're very similar and the arch is a little less steep so dare I say they just may be more comfortable.

Here's another option available in black and beige that is quite close for only $26...

She's Wearing My Necklace

Nicole at ShopStyle

I have been wanting this necklace since it came out around five or so years ago. The best price I found was on Pink Mascara and there was a 20 percent off coupon for Easter, so I bought it! Can't wait to finally get it and include it in outfit posts!

Shoe Organizer for Clutches

I'm all about organizing my clothes and accessories lately. You may have seen these shoe organizers in the stores, but I love the way my smaller bags fit in them! I am still looking for the perfect storage solution for my larger handbags.

I also have one for evening clutches and my shoes are to the side in these amazing shoe holders from Target!

A whole closet redo is in the works, but not sure when I'll have time to tackle that. When I do, I'll post the results. Still need the perfect solution for my larger handbags. What works for you?

F21 and TJ Maxx Springtime Haul

As I patiently wait for any signs of spring, I gathered some florals of my own...

This was from TJ Maxx, Has an exposed zipper on back. Very light and airy.

I got compliments on these Tommy Hilfiger shoes just trying them on in the store!
Doesn't that make you really want to buy whatever you're trying on?

I also picked up these Sam Edelman flats...super comfy

Silk at Forever 21? Oh yeah.
Colorful mosaic top to add a little zing

Must Have Wedges

What stemmed as a shoe of necessity (a super-tight budget), has turned into full-fledged shoe love. The object of my affection being a neutral colored wedge. It's the one spring shoe that goes with everything. I still rock my beloved Banana Republic wedges I featured in the Nelly Furtado post, but I wanted an updated "caged" style of sandal. I love that front zipper too. Same as with my jeans, I am an equal opportunity shoe person...low-end, high-end, here I am just looking for comfort! Because even the cutest shoes will sit in your closet if they torture your feet. I was shoe shopping once and this woman said the funniest thing. She said "Oh, these are two-step shoes". I thought she meant dancing and when I asked her she said "Two steps, and then you have to sit down".

I bought these at Target and they are beyond comfortable and cute! They are also available in black and brown.

What's the one style of shoe you just can't live without?

Hamptons vs. Coachella

This is the DKNY jacket from my Goodwill haul. At first I was going to style it in a "I'm going to the Hamptons for the weekend" kind of way. But who am I kidding? That's not me. So I thought what's the opposite? A bohemian peasant skirt. This is more of a "I just came from Coachella and now I need to have dinner with my in-laws" outfit. Mixing the blazer with the skirt was a fun way to add some structure to the loose shape of the skirt.

Jacket: DKNY (Thrifted)
Skirt: Old Navy
Bracelet: NY and Company

Levi's Love Affair

I am a jeans addict. I have tried almost every brand out there...low-end to high-end.
From Lee's to Sevens to Joe's Jeans to Calvins. I have flares, skinnies, trouser jeans in all washes. You name it, I have tried to squeeze myself into 'em. Although, I will never find the "perfect" pair of jeans, I do have one brand and style that I always return to. And that I have worn for years. They're kind of like an old lover that tempts you to stay with them, even though your eye is wandering to others.

That brand is Levi's and the jeans are 515 bootcuts. Nothing fancy, but they work for me. And they are mid-rise perfection. (Low-rise jeans have never been a friend of mine). I just bought these at Kohl's, so looks like my lover is back...for now.

Here they are...

Guilty Pleasures

In between shopping, you need a pick me up, so my husband and I went to our favorite coffee shop and got this...

Yum! Life is too short not to have dessert at least once in a while. So tell me, what's your favorite dessert? It's so hard to decide on just one!

Ruffle My Feathers

I bought these feather earrings at Target.
And they inspired me to create a fun eye make-up look to match.

Pink and black! Two of my favorite colors.

The make-up I used:
ELF eyeshadow quad
L'oreal HIP Duo in Smokey
Revlon Colorstay black liquid liner
Maybelline lipstick in Far Out Fuschia

How to recreate:
Place a piece of tape on the outer corner of eye (at an angle)
  1. Apply eyeshadow primer to lid
  2. Apply black eyeshadow to lid and extend outward over the tape (the same way as you would create a winged liner look except with eyeshadow)
  3. Then add pink shadow starting from the inside corner of eye and extend above the black eyeshadow and blend
  4. Line eye with liquid liner
  5. Remove the tape!
(I forget to show the mascara...I used Maybelline Great Lash BIG)

More feathered friends...

Gold Buttons, Front and Center

I colored my hair again! I'm bad. This time I just took it darker with gold highlights via Garnier Fruitis in Dark Golden Brown. When your hair is short, it grows "up", not down, so I just went with it.

Did anyone catch how gorgeous Eva Longoria looked when she was on Letterman a couple of weeks ago? Joan Rivers even voted her best dressed on Fashion Police! She wore a shorts suit that was killer.
The first celeb I remember sporting a similar look was Jen Aninston (Isn't she beautiful? I love her simple style).

I like pairing a jacket with shorts for an unexpected alternative to a skirt. Since I had those gold buttons on the jacket, I went accessory free to not blind myself with extra bling!
