Finally got NAKED

I went ahead and bit into the Urban Decay NAKED palette craze. I know you've probably seen this palette around! I went to Sephora and they were sold out, so I ordered it from Urban Decay and got some yummy samples too! I am already envisioning all the color combos.

Did you get NAKED too? What are some of your favorite color combos using this palette?

Still sold out on Sephora.com, but availabvle on ULTA...

Deluxe Luxe Look

Here's my H & M furry scarf doing its thing. This look is part hippie, part chic. It's still not cold enough to wear my furry friend yet, so this is a prototype of an outfit I'll wear when the chill sets in! The fur collar works nicely over a silk blouse, but when it gets colder, I'll add a blazer or jacket.

Pink and Purple Make-up Look

Here's a look with two of my favorite colors: pink and purple.  I tried the Urban Decay Primer Potion I recently purchased. That stuff is pretty powerful! I also placed the make-up I have been using more often in that Target case that I once featured here. It is great, especially if I need to grab it and go!

I'm wearing:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden
Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Ransom
L'oreal H.I.P. in Adventurous
Lancome Magique Creme Blush in Pink Parfait
Lancome Defincils Precious Cells Mascara in Black
MAC Lipstick in Pink Friday

H & M's Furry Scarfy Thing

Don't be scared. It's dead. Actually it was never alive, it's synthetic! I'm calling it a "furry, scarfy thing" and ever since I saw it on another fashion blogger's haul video, I wanted it. I have a similar scarf from Ann Taylor, but this one was more funky.

It also has a clip to hold the ends together. You can wear this over coats, sweaters and the like. I loved this furball and went out to get it soon after she featured it but alas, H & M wasn't carrying it yet.  It was probably sent to her before it hit the stores, and the saleswoman said to check back late September/early October when winter stuff comes in. Waah! And then, you know how H & M is! One hot item and everyone is all over it! So I didn't obsess over it, if it was there great, but whatever. I went into H & M the other day and it was finally in stock so I bought it. Yay me! It's sold out online, but be sure to check your local store.

Another furry scarf. Aren't they so cute?

Studs + Satchels = Cool

I am always on the lookout for a perfect caramel satchel. This one is so lovely, it goes with everything and the mini studs make it very much my style. Studs were big a couple of seasons ago, but I always like them.

Mine's an older version, this is the latest Astor satchel with a detachable strap.

Summer to Fall Recycling

The trendy word for celebrities who actually wear their clothes more than once is "recycling". Pippa Middleton is often called out for this, but I find it refreshing that she wears her clothing more than once! Us everyday girls call wardrobe recycling just that..."wearing our clothes". I'm wearing a shirt I wore during the Hurricane Irene blackout for fall! I was going to my new brother-in-law's birthday dinner. The blouse is from Forever 21.

Here it was during the summer in a look I kind of threw together!

The Eyes Have It

I usually never buy high-end eye products (besides eyeshadow) since I switch my mascara up every three months or so. I went into Sephora looking for the NAKED palette and they were sold out. I have had mixed thoughts about buying this since so many of the shadows looked shimmery to me, but I am succumbing to the hype and I am going to get it eventually, maybe on Beauty.com.

Instead, I decided to at least buy some eye products like the Urban Decay Primer Potion once and for all! My L'oreal Decrease was helping me out, but it's already running out! I only swatched the UD Primer Potion on my hand and wow, it was pretty fabulous, it wouldn't budge. Also a very long, long time ago, when I was 20 or so I mean :) I bought some Lancome creme blush and got a gift with purchase. In it was a Definicils mascara. It was so tiny, but I loved that little thing to death. I decided to try the Lancome Defincils Precious Cells. Woah. My eyelashes were literally touching my lids it worked so well. The Sephora salesgirl threw in a bunch of free samples too. Philosphy Miracle Worker creme, Bosca night creme etc... I love free samples.

Fantastic Beauty Buys

I found some more beauty gems at Marshall's that I recommend. Here's the breakdown:

First, the face!

1. Soy Beauty Anti-Aging Cream with Soybean Protein & Dead Sea Minerals
I have discovered that soy based products make my skin clearer and brighter so when I see soy, I'm on it like white on rice!

Another staple in my soy collection is anything Aveeno

Then, the hair!

BEDHEAD Hook-up Mousse Wax
I use mousse, I use wax. So this hybrid is the perfect answer to my short hair styling needs.

Big Sexy Hair  Root Pump Spray Mousse
This is my second little bottle of this stuff. It's easy to use and more precise than a handful of mousse.

Then...where??

The Body Shop DeoDry
Beauty is head to toe, so I had to address the underarms. This claims 24 hour protection and dryness. I had a huge problem with hypohyrdosis as a teen. Maybe I'll dedicate an entire blog post to that experience! I love Dove deodorant, but I wanted to try this out also.

Breakin' All Color Rules

Remember that rule about no white after Labor Day? Me neither! Color rules are kind of arbitrary. I wear whatever colors I like all year round! Here's a white cropped trench jacket that I am loving right now. It's a very good weight and nice, thick cotton for Old Navy! I paired it with a lime green shirt and my leopard scarf.

Hat: D &Y
Scarf: Rachele
Bag: Thrifted
Jeans: Levi's
Tee: J.Crew
Heels: Nine West

My Sister's Tiffany's Theme Wedding

Today was my sister's wedding! The theme was Breakfast at Tiffany's. I did her make-up and even applied false lashes which I was worried about. I was pleased with the results and she loved it! The wedding was amazing and I even got to sing At Last by Etta James accompanied by piano. And by now you know how much I love singing.

Here are photos from the day...
