No More Saggy Boots

My husband and I are working to convert my sunroom into a walk-in closet. So in the meantime, I have been planning ahead and trying to get organizers, etc... I was at Mandee's and I spotted these little lifesavers...

They're called Booty Shapers! No, not for you booty, but for your boots! Don't you hate when your boots flop over? So far, I have been using old paper towel rolls inside, but sometimes they still flop!

These are inflatable and you place them inside your boots. You can order them here or find them at your local Mandee's.

A Little Lace

I've always wanted a lace cocktail dress. They key to wearing lace is to look for pieces with a classic shape. I paired the dress with a ruffled red clutch and nude peep toes.

Boom Boom Pow Haul

So much pattern going on here, it reminded me of those old Batman cartoons when a BOOM appears surrounded by stars! Boom Boom Pow as the Black Eyed Peas say.

Above is some of my mini haul from Marshall's.

On the left is a Calvin Klein t-shirt in leopard. On the right is the shirt I wore for my recent Spring Forward, Stripes, Ahead Post. The name brand is RED. I thought it was Echo Red, but it just says RED. And in the middle is a Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Wash.

I love love love The Body Shop. I grew up using a lot of Body Shop products, although I had to really save to buy them. But, now they're a little more accessible to me especially through good deals!

Finally, here is a Micheal Kors cosmetic case. In an earlier post, I featured the larger matching case. This one is perfect for my lipsticks and glosses.

I'm Sorry Miss Jackson

That's Janet, Miss Jackson if you're nasty. I stole your style.
I think my cropped jacket and flat boots give a modern twist to classic Janet style.

Tank: Ann Taylor Loft
Leggings: No Boundaries
Motorcycle boots: Fusion (Joyce Leslie)

My all time favorite Janet video is Rhythm Nation 1819,
but my style above is a little more Nasty Boy!

Just when I thought I saw everything that Hello Kitty merchandisers could come up with, I spotted these headphones! Love them! Why not look cute when cranking those tunes?

Ghetto Fab Nail Art

Ms. Solange Knowles has admitted to having a slight obsession with what she calls "ghetto fab nail art". I grew up doing designs on my nails, my friends' nails and today I sometimes will add a design. Junior High, Brooklyn, the 80's. Nail art was cool back then. But what do you think? Is nail art tacky or fun once in a while?

Here's one easy way to "cheat" and get the look...

Chocolates and Wonder Woman Lips

Happy Valentine's Day girls!

I hope everyone gets lots of chocolates and flowers!

Here's something cute for Valentine's day...M.A.C.'s Wonder Woman line. Being that my old MySpace theme was Wonder Woman, I couldn't resist checking out this line. The packaging is adorable of course. The Opulash mascara in Victorious (a deep purple) looks amazing as well but it's already sold out. But this lipstick in Russian Red is another fun option.

Burberry Look for Less

Spring is on the horizon, so I like to have a lightweight jacket on hand. This is a basic black jacket, but I love it. It's quilted and by Gallery. I purchased it at Marshall's. It looks very much like the Burberry coats in this style. If you like that style and was holding off on buying one, check out the Gallery line! They are usually sold at Macy's.

 Another low cost option...

And here is the Burberry, (pretty close I'd say)...

Sunshine on my Shoulder

"sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy..."
I don't think John Denver was referring to a gold leather hobo, but I am!

I guess I am a creature of habit when it comes to fashion. I like something, wear it to death and then replace it with an amped up version! As discussed in the toggle coat blog post!

I loved the look of gold purses that was big trend a few years ago. I love metallics, I used to wear silver shoes in 4th grade for crying out loud. So, I'm just going to say current trend or not, I like gold bags!

Cameron Diaz used to rock a gold hobo sling bag that I loved! (I will post that pic if I find it!) So I went ahead and bought a ten dollar special and wore it everyday. One time, an older gentleman complimented me on the bag! That's when you know you're onto something when a man notices your handbag! That bag eventually peeled and died, but I just found this new one...

I love it! The gold is a little blinding, but that's how I like it. It's by Junior Drake and it was originally $288 at Marshall's down to $34! It's leather so it may not peel and die like its predecessor. My best find to date. This is more of a summer bag, so I should wait a while to use it.

Lighten Yourself Up

The lightest I've ever had my hair via Dark and Lovely hair color!

I am all about DIY beauty. Mostly because growing up, I had to do my own nails, haircolor, shoot, I've even cut my own hair on a few occasions (not recommended). So I have literally tried every haircolor box out there and I know the beauty gurus will say to go to Sally Beauty to pick out the exact formulations, but I am a little worried I will mix that wrong amounts and end up with no hair. I do love having dark hair, but I like to switch it up too.

I found a good deal on the hair color below at Target. And if you're a dark haired brunette like me, you know how hard it is to lighten your hair at home. This latest haircolor form L'oreal actually worked so much better than expected. It made my hair at least two shades lighter.

I bought mine at my local Target store.
They are having a buy one get one sale, that's why there are two listed here.

A Scarf or Two

Here are a couple of scarves I bought recently.
I love how a colorful scarf can add pop to monochromatic outfits.

Some Hearts Aflutter

I'd say this is fashion related since I included the Eiffel Tower and Paris is a big fashion city (ok, I'm stretching things just to post this picture right?:) I was cleaning my house and decided to decorate my dining room since Valentine's day is only a week away. The crystal vase and Eiffel tower is from Marshall's, those heart sticks and rose petals are from the Dollar Tree. As well as those furry hearts on the window! And that pink flower vase is from Burlington Coat Factory. A little over the top, but LOVE (and the prospect of chocolates) can do that to a girl!

Under the Sea Salt

I bought this amazing product on a whim and it works so well. I have always heard about Ahava products, but have never tried them. This is a liquid salt that you massage onto your body then rinse off. It leaves your skin so silky I can't even tell you!  If this is anything like the real Dead Sea, I'd love to go.

Superbowl Sunday Plan

Today's Superbowl Sunday and I am not a very big football fan. Although I occasionally sit and watch a few minutes of games when my husband starts yelling form the living room. Just to see what the fuss is about. But today, I'll probably be just cooking and then prepping my nails for my weekly at-home manicure. And of course, catching up on my reading (fashion mags are in the mix).

So, how gorgeous is Michelle Williams? Very

My favorite magazine is Glamour, but I bought this month's Marie Claire since Michelle was on the cover.
I love her and she lives in Brooklyn! That peach color she's wearing is gorgeous.
