Closet Clean-up and Tour

I'm exhausted. I just spent the last couple of hours cleaning me closet(s). I have the most insane set-up in my house that usually drives me bananas. I'm talking B-A-N-A-N-A-S bananas.

It's basically 4 separate closets: one  for summer blouses, one for mostly pants/shoes, one for handbags and winter items and a last one for dresses and other items I don' t have a spot for! Oh, one more...for coats but I don't count that closet since it's not really clothes for outfits.

Of course, I would love ALL of my things in one big closet but I have yet to build that in the one room I could possibly do it...the never used sun room! I am a perfectionist so I really want to find the best arrangement that won't cost a fortune (shelving etc) that could possibly take on all of my stuff! Some people think having a walk-in closet is frivolous, but you ladies understand, girls like us NEED one! Here are my neater closets :)

I use those hanging cloth organizers to store handbags.  In addition to a shelf I have underneath for bigger bags.

For shoes, I have basic shoe racks...

And those amazing hanging shoe racks.

I hope you liked my closet tour! Be sure to share your closet set-up, tips and other ideas below :)

Lovey Dovey Belt Organizer

I just bought this belt organizer from Bed Bath and Beyond! I got all lovey dovey when I saw the adorable hearts! Isn't it cute? And only $5.99! Here are some more pictures of mine with some of my belts on it. I like that the hearts have a lot of extra room (for more belts:)

LUSH Haul: The Sequel

I am a reformed product junkie!  Especially facial cleansers. I have tried them ALL! High-end to drugstore brands. I am sold on LUSH's facial cleanser! But I will tell you more about that after the jump...

So, I went back to LUSH for a second helping! I love Honey I Washed the Kids Soap. So I had to get more. And also Sexy Peel. I also bought another Bath Bomb. This time Butterball.

LUSH employees are so incredibly nice and very laid back. They will give you samples of anything you want to try and these are good sized samples! The last time I got three samples without even asking for them. This time I asked for two specific products I heard about. I wanted to try Porridge soap as seen above. It's an oatmeal soap and has lots of texture. So she gave me a good sized chunk as seen above. It's ok, but not in total love with it and wouldn't buy it again.

Also wanted to try Angels on Bare Skin cleanser and she gave me that clear container with enough cleanser for at least 8-10 washes! At first I didn't think it would give my combination skin the matte texture I always look for. It did not produce lather and had the consistency of a facial mask when you rub it on.

It's hard to find a facial cleanser that will get rid of oil and not strip your skin! But after I dried my face, it was so soft, matte, and perfect. My skin is sensitive and this did not affect it one bit. I recommend this product completely and I have tried every facial cleanser in existence. It ranks high on my list of favorites.

To read more about its ingredients and more reviews you can click below. Or, if you want to try it first, ask your LUSH employee for a sample like I did :)

Colorful Thrift Haul

When I want to go on a guilt-free shopping spree I hit the thrift store. It's really amazing all of the name brand items you can find there. Each item was under 10 dollars!

Forever 21 halter sundress
Ann Taylor striped tee
Dress Barn hot pink jacket
Express cotton and linen button-up
Ann Taylor Loft ruffled cotton yellow tank

 J.Crew chino shorts

Christopher Blue Jeans. I looked up the retail value and these usually cost $150. So 5 dollars was a pretty good deal! Light washes are tricky but they look good with white and flowy, boho tops.

The tunic to the left is 2X but I am using it as a cover up. It looks flowy and cute on!
To the right is a pink Ralph Lauren shirt. I found it in the men's section but the size says 6 so it could be women's.  No problem, for the price, I will cross dress!

Sweet Like Sugar

Here's a cream colored dress I recently purchased. I added that clear belt from Speigel which is a favorite of mine! It's great because it allows the outfit colors to come through!

Yurman Inspired Silver Bracelet

 David Yurman bracelet...oh, me likey

I love David Yurman jewelry, but it's hard to have caviar tastes on a cheeseburger budget! In addition to the quality, most of what I like about anything designer is just that...the design. So I seek out similar looks that I can actually afford!

This bracelet by Forever 21 has that Yurman look. I have small wrists so it is a tad big on me, but I solve that problem by wearing it higher on my wrist or wearing an additional bracelet to keep it from slipping off! It's a good weight for Forever 21 jewelry and it's surprisingly well made also. And the best part... it's less than 5 dollars!

Shoes for an Indian Summer

What's as comfy as a sneaker and cuter than flip flops? Mocassins!

I returned something at DSW and I was ready to exit, when BAM, I saw these cute shoes! They're Minnetonka Mocassins and they are as comfy as a pair of slippers! They run a little big, so I bought a half size smaller. That's Nicole Richie above rocking a pair of bright orange mocs and looking so cute in them!

Coming this Fall: Missoni for Target

How divine is this Missoni dress? Very. So, I was excited to find out that Vogue announced Missoni as the latest design house to collaborate with Target. The line is heading to stores on September 13th. And for the best part...400 Missoni pieces will be available for purchase! Wow. Clothing and also home-related items will part of this collection. Pardon me, while I faint and then come to.

I almost wish I didn't know this because now I can hardly wait. Although I predict that many of the pieces will not be actual knitwear, rather just the trademark zigzag motif imprinted on dresses or tops. But that's fine, if it's Missoni, I'll take it!

Shiny, Happy Products

I haven't used soaps in a long time since I always go for body washes. But with my recent LUSH haul, I needed a soap dish! I found a perfect one for my LUSH Sexy Peel (which by the way is absolutely fantastic) So instead of a regular soap dish, I bought this smiley face bowl. It's perfect for the Sexy Peel which is bright and citrusy. I love anything lemon scented and this soap has both lemon and orange and exfoliating bits. So, a big smiley face is in order.

I also went to the Dollar Tree and picked up a bunch of CG eye shadows and an ELF eyeshadow brush.
So far, I like four of them (the darker shades), but for a dollar a piece, it's fun to experiment with new colors and I'll probably use these to layer with other shadows. Or I could always "transform" them into eyeliners! The amazing Paula Dorf (who actually did my make-up once during one of my writing internships) used the product below during my make-up session and I've been hooked on it ever since. It turns your powders into liners!

Then I picked up some socks. I try not to spend a lot on socks or t-shirts, so when they start getting worn looking I can just toss them for new ones. These were cute. Polka-dots and stripes. I don't take my socks too seriously since no one sees them anyway :)

Ginormous dragon's egg

Then I went to Godiva...oh yeah!

Hooray for chocolate!

Here is a list of all of the products I purchased at LUSH. I'm already in love with the Ocean Salt Cleanser.
