Topshop Review and Steve Madden Rules

While in NYC, I went over to Spring Street (I used to work around there and it's a great shopping area, not that I shopped during lunch or when my boss was at the DC office, oh never ;).

This area is split into two shopping experiences. There first area  has a few cobblestone streets with all of my dream stores...Chanel, Catherine Malandrino, Anna Sui, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, ahhh.

Good place to look out for celebs too since I once saw Macaulay Culkin around there. He was a little older at the time, not the kid he was here...

We have something in common,

that's my face after realizing I can't really afford my dream Chanel shopping spree.

No biggie. I snap myself back to reality and head to the shops on Broadway which are nice too and where I can shop without having to declare bankruptcy.  I saw a Topshop store and I've heard so much about that store. I was looking for Marc B flap bag available at the UK Topshop that had a Chanel-esque look to it. It wasn't there, so I checked out the clothes. Wasn't that crazy about them! It was like a higher priced H & M. $70 for a denim vest! No dice!

I later picked up this satchel by Steve Madden. I just love Steve Madden satchels.The handles are always so comfortable and the bags themselves hold up really well. This one has a pebbled texture that I like. It looks similar to this Marc Jacobs...



Here's my bag. It's shown here in black, but the my brown version does look a lot like the Marc Jacobs.  Especially with that little nameplate on the front.

Summer at Marshall's Haul

It's crazy how much stuff I buy at Marshall's. I just can't resist their deals.

These shoes look very similar to the Jessica Simpson wedges I previously featured. But these are lighter in color and have more heel support via that extra leather in the back. (These and the Simpsons are all fashioned after those amazing Stuart Weitzman wedges made popular by Jennifer Aninston).

I really don't need another make-up bag, but how was I expected to walk by this Betseyville bag and not buy it? Impossible. The shimmer is actually mini stars. Pink, shimmery things just make me happy.

Here's something I actually do need. An eye serum. I use it under my eyes, but also on my neck, face, wherever! It is infused with Vitamin C and I love anything citrus. The pump bottle looks so serious that I am fooled into thinking I am looking younger every time I use it. I'm not looking for miracles, but I am a big advocate of moisturizing and the product itself is pretty amazing at doing just that.  I paid around 7 dollars, but this is something I would consider buying at full price. Here is the best price I found it for on Overstock.

Whenever there's talk of skin care, "sun" care talk is never too far. These are cute Steve Madden aviator style sunglasses. They are a gorgeous caramel brown shade that allows the eyes to still be seen slightly. Great for looking stylish and keeping UV rays at bay.

July 4th Weekend in Effect

Yay for July 4th! It's one of my favorite holidays. Here I am just coolin'. This shirt has a fun 80's vibe to it that I like.

Gold Buttons, Front and Center

I colored my hair again! I'm bad. This time I just took it darker with gold highlights via Garnier Fruitis in Dark Golden Brown. When your hair is short, it grows "up", not down, so I just went with it.

Did anyone catch how gorgeous Eva Longoria looked when she was on Letterman a couple of weeks ago? Joan Rivers even voted her best dressed on Fashion Police! She wore a shorts suit that was killer.
The first celeb I remember sporting a similar look was Jen Aninston (Isn't she beautiful? I love her simple style).

I like pairing a jacket with shorts for an unexpected alternative to a skirt. Since I had those gold buttons on the jacket, I went accessory free to not blind myself with extra bling!
