Every time I go to Victoria's Secret, I notice this lotion. So I finally bought one, but now they also carry this PINK line at Bath and Body Works, so I picked this up there. After looking like a nut sniffing the four scents, I chose Pretty & Pure (fitting for my blog name too). This is a new scent that is a mix of jasmine and lemonade. Very fruity and sweet. Have you tried the Drenched in PINK line? What's your favorite scent?
Yay! I just read that H & M will be opening its online store at the end of this year. Cool.
I love their tops and accessories! Most times the most popular items are hard to find, so being able to purchase online will be helpful. Here are a few H & M pieces I wore last year and featured
on Pretty All the Time...
This is my absolute favorite coat! During college I had a similar coat like this that I bought at a thrift store. It was a little bigger and less fitted, so I finally decided to part with it and donated it to the Burlington Warm Hearts Coat Drive. And then, lo and behold, I found this lovely Michael Kors coat at Burlington Coat Factory soon after! It is more fitted, has a hood and a little more modern looking than my original college coat!
You wouldn't believe who I first spotted this Micheal Kors version on....
Yup, I was surprised too. But it's such a good fashion choice. You can't go wrong with a toggle coat!
It's a snowy mess of a day, so to perk up I started organizing my dress collection into one cohesive display. I have a lot of dresses, so I need to go to more functions where I could actually get some use out them. There might be a wedding in my family soon, which means showers, dinners and more so my dresses can make their debuts after all!
I naturally love to help people pick out clothes and weddings are no exception! I found this dreamy little number on French Connection and instantly sent the link to my relative. It's an informal wedding so this would work as a wedding dress! And I love the idea of something other than white.
With this brutal winter wrecking havoc on my lips, I have been meaning to buy a new lip balm. I originally wanted this Eos lip balm in the tangerine, but my drugstore only had the lemon. And I love it! It's not sticky and doesn't leave a residue. And I love the roundness of it...a mini lemon ball!
I haven't done a photo flashback in a while so here it goes. This was on my birthday in 1999. My husband and I were dating and it was out real first date on Spirit Cruises. I ended up wearing a Tina Turner wig and performing with the staff but that's another story for another post I guess. I needed to dress up and believe it or not, I didn't own a proper little black dress. As a matter of fact, my wardrobe was all work clothes. So I rushed to the mall and actually bought this strapless dress at Sears! For 30 dollars. The top part has some sequins and the shoes were caged ankle straps that belonged to my mom. I loved that dress and the fun night we had made this a special birthday for me. It also taught me two things...always have an LBD on hand for nights out...and I make a pretty good Tina Turner!
Just when I thought I had seen all the amazing dresses I ever could on Michelle Obama, she pulls out an Alexander McQueen masterpiece for the state dinner she and the President were hosting Wednesday night in honor of Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Just think about it...Alexander McQueen on a First Lady? He of the armadillo shoe and Lady Gaga
ensembles. So I looked online for a McQueen frock that has an everyday appeal and found this little gem from the McQ line.
I just love the smell of lavender. It's relaxing and invigorating at the same time. It's a good scent for me since as much as I'd like to relax, something's still usually brewing upstairs! When I go to the spa (which is usually only on special occasions) the facialist sometimes places a drop of lavender oil under my nose while my mask is on. My husband laughed when I called it "entertainment for my nose".
Here's a sampler kit of lavender body wash and lotion I picked up at Crabtree and Evelyn. I like the cute box it comes in since it looks like a mini book! I added more lavender products from C&E below.
I kind of love shopping at drugstores. Where else can you get lipstick, shampoo and a KitKat bar all at the same time?
I went to Rite Aid today and purchased the following...
Being a budget conscious girl, I color my own hair, but I have to admit, it's work! I used to try to lighten it and add highlights, but that's too much work. Now I go for one color with undertones. I'm far from a pro so I stick to colors close to my natural dark brown. This is designed for dark hair and I like the reddish undertones. Although it won't turn me into a redhead, it will cover grays (I have a couple) and brighten my hair overall.
Also bought some more lipstick. (because the only thing I love more than KitKat is lipstick).
It's Revlon Colorburst in Baby Pink. I also bought the Revlon Colorstay Mineral lipglosses in Endless Lilac and Timeless Nude.
Baby Pink is available on both Ulta and Drugstore.com
Here's another wild little purchase. If you haven't been a part of the "Slanket" craze, you're missing out! A friend of mine gave the original blue Snuggie last year and I did use it. I know they look a little funny, but who doesn't love a blanket...with sleeves. And these are cute for the kids in my life. I for one would love a Hello Kitty Snuggie if they start making those.
I almost forgot the aforementioned KitKat! I buy the snack sized since I feel guilty eating a whole bar of candy. It probably doesn't matter, but it makes me feel like I'm trying!
I was looking for a black, sexy-ish robe and I found this little beauty at Target.
I also picked up this Mulberry for Target crossbody bag. The Mulberry for Target brand is getting limited since it's been in Target for a few months now. It was on clearance, so I thought why not? These are not available online anymore, but local Target stores have some Mulberry bags available.
Is it summer yet? I am a summer girl. After Christmas, I just start counting the days until June! So I picked up a couple of dresses at Forever 21 to jump start my summer dreaming...
I am in love with those Herve Leger bandage dresses. But they run for over one thousand dollars. Hmm, maybe next lifetime. But for now, I bought this dress at Forever 21 that has a similar "bandage" look. That'll work. Check out the other dress I picked up in the above post!
I am super excited. MTV Style selected me as one of the Style Bloggers of the Week! I will post the link with the featured outfit as soon as it goes live in a couple of days, but I was too tickled not to share now.
